The law is very clear on child car seat safety. It is the driver s legal responsibility to ensure that all child passengers your own or otherwise are restrained safely and according to the law. Children travelling in a car must use a child restraint until they are either 135cm tall or reach the age of 12. Once they have outgrown a child restraint, the child must wear a normal car seat belt.
